Last Friday at the Pigeon Forge Community Center Bowling Alley, the Seymour Eagles Bowling team defeated the West Rebels 24 to 3 with the pin count at 3162 to 2449. A match consists of three games.
The leading bowler for the Eagles as usual was Senior Cory Cox with a 204, 214, and 247 for a 665.
Not too far behind Cox was Joey Snyder with a 203, 209 and 190 for a 602 giving Seymour two 600 series bowlers.
Two other notable bowlers was Zack Cook with a 192 and Cody Cravens with a 202.
Coach Charles Ogle seemed pleased, “We had two bowlers in the 600 series; Cox and Snyder with Cook and Cravens helping. We have a big week coming up. We’ve got to play well to get to the state as a team.”
The Eagles go against G-P while Sevier County takes on Catholic. The winner of those two matches play in the final four of the region which includes Greeneville, one of the best bowling teams in the state. Each winner will host the finals.
Even if Seymour doesn’t make the state as a team they have several bowlers who are quite capable of making it as individuals.
