The upstart Lady Eagles volleyball team hosted Cherokee High on
Tuesday night and proceeded to be a terrible host by defeating the
Lady Chiefs for the Lady Eagles first district victory. "After a
disappointing night on Monday in which we lost two close matches
against Halls & Clinton, I simply was not prepared for what I
witnessed tonight", commented Coach Ed Irvin. "Even though we lost the
first set of the match, we really didn't play that badly. I just hoped
we could do something we haven't done so far this season, that is play
a consistent match & not beat ourselves." It turns out that Coach
Irvin was prophetic in his statement as the Lady Eagles turned the
match around and won the next three sets to capture their first
district win in 2AAA.
