Maryville’s Tiffany Sheehan won her third consecutive race in the Trucks Feature Saturday night at Seymour’s legendary 411 Motor Speedway.

Sheehan held off Robert Martin, also of Maryville, down the stretch in an exciting dash to the finish line at the dirt oval. Saturday marked the second time in as many weeks Ms. Sheehan earned a ticket to Victory Lane but it was the first time she got her picture taken in the Winner’s Circle because following last week’s victory Sheehan was forced to detour straight to the pits due to a smoking, overheated engine.

She also outdistanced fellow Blount County resident Robert Martin in last week’s race.

Brian Stanton, of Kodak, finished third in Saturday’s truck race. Bobby Martin, of Maryville, and Seymour’s own Charlie Dunlap rounded out the top five.

Knoxville’s Charles Hurst, who finished a disappointing seventh in last week’s Late Model Feature event, redeemed himself Saturday with a top finish in the highly-competitve, 14-car late model field. Lenoir City’s Ruben Mayfield came through with another impressive top-five finish by coming in second place Saturday. Mayfield finished in fourth place in last week’s race.

After sitting out last week’s event, Powell’s Josh Collins finished in third place Saturday in the Late Model Feature. Louisville’s Jimmy Hunt and Knoxville’s Clyde Stanton were fourth and fifth, respectively, in Saturday’s race.

Just seven days after Mike Lewelling beat a crowded pack of 14 cars to the finish line in last week’s Modified Street Feature, Lewelling was first to cross the finish line again Saturday but this time with a much smaller field in his rearview mirror. Lewelling, one of four Sevierville residents in the Modified Street Feature’s top five finishers, held off runner-up Robbie Comer, of Lafollette, and Justin and Gary McCarter, who finished third and fourth, respectively, Saturday night. Sevierville’s Brad Lewelling finished in fifth place in the six-car field.

Seymour’s Travis Reno picked up the win Saturday in the Street Stock Feature. Knoxville’s Bryan McDaniel and Fredrick Romines rounded out the top three in the seven-car event.

The Classics Feature included some controversy in the post-race. According to sources close to the track administration, Bart Baxter was awarded the win after the apparent race winner refused to cooperate with officials after another driver requested an exchange of engines. Further details on the controversy will be made available in the Seymour Herald when, or if, they become available.

Knoxville’s Wayne Dukes wound up finishing second in the Classics Feature. Powell’s Tim Conaway rounded out the top three.

Cosby resident Joey Allen took first-place honors in the 13-car Modified Mini Feature. Allen and second-place finisher Bryan Gregory were the only two racers in the top five of this week’s race that did not also finish in the top five of last week’s Modified Mini Feature. Kodak’s Chris Kelley, who finished second last week, finished third this week. Knoxville’s Brian Berkley, last week’s race champion, finished fourth this week. Brian Dinkins finished in fifth place for the second straight week.

In the always-exciting Front-Wheel Drive Feature, Dustin Cansler, of Cleveland, Tennessee, took the checkered flag. Newport’s Josh Driskill, last week’s fourth-place finisher, was runner-up in this week’s Front-Wheel Drive event. Seymour’s Robert Burris made the biggest jump from one week to the other in the entire field when he cruised in with an impressive third-place finish this week. Burris finished in ninth-place last week. On the other hand, Mark Hittenger, last week’s race winner, dropped down to ninth place in Saturday’s race.
