The Seymour Lady Eagles softball team has much to play for in next week’s District 3-AA Tournament at Alcoa.

The Lady Eagles (16-15 overall, 6-4 district) enter next week’s tourney as the No. 3 seed and must win at least three games to advance to the regional tournament scheduled for the following week.

Seymour will face the No. 6 seed in the double elimination event.

Before the postseason action gets cranked up next week though, the Lady Eagles still have some business to take care of in the regular season. Seymour will take part in Senior Night festivities Thursday night prior to facing the Heritage Lady Mountaineers on the softball diamond.

The SHS track and field team is also slated to get the postseason started Monday in the regional track meet at Sullivan North High School. The Eagles and Lady Eagles tennis squads will begin the district playoffs Monday at Tyson Park in Knoxville.
