Knoxville natives Paul Carney and Ousby Brewington were first place finishers, respectively, in the Trophy Division and the Foot Brake Division Saturday at Seymour’s 411 Dragway.
In his 1983 Mustang, Carney took top honors in the Trophy Division with a 7.51 Dial-in time (ET 7.53)
Mike Grant from Tellico Plains finished with a 7.48 Dial-in time (ET 7.54) driving his 1985 Chevy S-10 which was good for second place in the division. Knoxville’s David Gilespie finished in third place with a 9.08 Dial-in time (ET 9.30) driving a 1977 Camaro.
Brewinton drove his 1991 Camaro to a first place finish in the Foot Brake Division with a Dial-in time of 7.21 (ET 7.13).
Johnny Burns, of Sevierville, was second in his 1973 Maverick with a Dial-in time of 8.20 (ET foul). Grant, the second place finisher in the Trophy Division, finished in third place in the Foot Brake Division, racing his Chevy S-10 to a 7.50 Dial-in time (ET 7.48).
Another night of drag racing will be held both Friday and Saturday at 411 Dragway.
