vols’ cottam out 2-3 months after wrist injury

germantown native sidelined until at least late october with wrist injury

Tennessee senior tight end Brad Cottam sustained a left wrist injury during Tuesdays scrimmage and is sidelined until late October or possibly November.
UT head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh reports that Cottam underwent successful surgery Tuesday night at UT Medical Center by Dr. Robert Ivy of the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic. Cottam is being released from the hospital later today.
The Germantown native had a career-high 14 receptions last season for 182 yards, a 14-yard average per catch. A three-time Academic All-SEC honoree, Cottam graduated last pring with a degree in business studies and has begun work on his master’s in sport studies.
