The main channel seems to be the best place to catch fish this week on Fort Loudon.
With the water temperature a constant 70 degrees, anglers have reported catching fish early with crank baits and spinner baits. Rip rap and points are the location of choice for early morning fishermen. In the afternoon hours bass are hitting jigs and Carolina rigs along bluffs on the main channel in 12 to 14 feet of water. Deep rigs are also working well along main points using 4 inch finesse worms.
Some small fish are being caught in the back of coves, but larger fish in the 2 to 4 pound range are coming out of the main channel.
Fishing conditions are expected to remain fairly consistent throughout the week
