Former CAK hoops star could add immediate help Two-time all-district post player Sarah Sexton of CAK has decided to play college basketball at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville. Sexton signed a letter of intent with Lady Evangels coach Bill Brittain today at the high school. “We are extremely happy that Sarah decided to join the Johnson Bible College family,” Brittain said. “We expect her to contribute immediately as she adds to our depth and speed at the post position. She will be a tremendous addition to our team and the student body.” Sexton scored over 1,000 points during her high school career averaging about 12 points per game. She ranked among the top 10 in field goal shooting in the KIL by hitting 55.7 % of her shots last season. She won the CAK Coaches Award and played with the Sports Tours team in Hawaii last summer. “Sarah made tremendous progress as a basketball player, but her best basketball is ahead of her,” said CAK Coach Richard Cowan. “She works hard, jumps well and makes plays under pressure. I’m glad she is getting the opportunity to play college basketball.” Sexton plans to major in elementary education at JBC.
