Field set for next weeks championship

FRANKLIN, TN) - 34 TPGA Professionals will compete next week in Chattanooga for the Tennessee PGA Assistant’s Championship. The top 2 players will represent the Tennessee PGA along with professionals from the other 40 PGA Sections in the National Assistant’s Championship, which will take place later next month in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Estimated purse at the Tennessee stage will be $8,500 and $100,000 at the National Championship.   The 7,000-yard par 72 Bear Trace at Harrison Bay will host the Championship sponsored by TaylorMade-adidas. The Tennessee PGA also utilized the Harrison Bay site earlier in the year for the Chattanooga Classic Open Qualifying tournament. James Van De Griff can mathematically wrap up the True Temper Assistants Player of the Year honor with a good finish at next weeks Championship. Only events remaining on the schedule are next weeks Major and one more event at the end of September.
