Seymour, TN – Clift Beeler made it official Monday, signing the paperwork that will continue his basketball career at Tennessee Wesleyan College. The King’s Academy senior led the Lions in scoring this season, averaging 12.3 ppg while shooting better than 55% from the floor. Beeler worked hard in his off seasons, playing in AAU with the Tennessee Predators. Predator’s coach Maurice Chunn was proud of Beeler, “He gave us great minutes on the floor, and he’s honestly the toughest player at his age. You just can’t but root for him, because of the way he always works to get it done.” Wesleyan Coach Steve Adams is looking forward to seeing how the 6’3” Beeler develops. “I think he has a great future potential, we might redshirt him because he looks to have more growing to do yet. We’re getting a fine young man, and you can never have enough of those.” Beeler is one of three high school players Wesleyan will sign this year. NAIA Tennessee Wesleyan ended its season in the conference semi-finals, ending the season 19-12 this year. Clift has continued to work out since the Lions’ season ended in hopes of playing his first year, “I’m looking forward to it (college), I’m already working out, I’ll have to work hard to play.” Working hard should not be a problem for Beeler, who played football and basketball for the Lions, while maintaining a 3.2 GPA and remaining active in his church, F.C.A. and C.A.R.E. Clift is the son of Clifton and Sharon Beeler and has attended T.K.A. since sixth grade.
