Does the internet have an effect on personal life?
Well, yes, it does in many ways, actually. Whether it be emotions, socializing, or even brains, it takes effect on one.
The internet is a very powerful tool. It's just the key of using it. Internet can deal with emotions and separation. Increased use of the internet leads to social isolation and depression.
People, who spend more time on the internet, spend less time socializing with peers, communicate less within the family, and feel more lonely and depressed.
The internet can also deal with being social. It brings people together by bridging geographical barriers. It gives a source of communication for those who have no other way to communicate.
Last, but not least, the internet has a huge effect on knowledge.
A very high percentage of undergraduates at Stanford University have a much greater exposure to the internet than the average person. Internet use is predominately correlated with age and level of education. This determines how smart he/she is at the age they are currently at.
Therefore, the internet does have a very big impact on your personal life. It could go from being a brainiac to being the most socialized person. It's all about how it's used and how much.
