A Seymour Volunteer Firefighter/Paramedic arrived at 6:44 P.M. to find a 51 year old male in serious condition.
Paul Harrison of Oak Ridge was riding his motorcycle with his friend on another motorcycle ahead of him when Harrison went off the road.
According to witnesses, Harrison was unfamiliar with the road and when he came up over the hill, Harrison didn’t make the turn and went head on into the embankment.
Sergeant Darrell Lee of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department was the investigative officer at the scene.
Sergeant Lee told the Seymour Herald, “There was no alcohol or any other cause of the accident other than unfamiliarity with the road.”
Sergeant Lee said "According to a witness, Harrison pushed the motorcycle off of him, stood up and then collapsed. Possibly from his massive internal injuries he sustained from the wreck."
LifeStar was requested as firefighters and paramedics treated the victim. Unfortunately Harrison succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The accident was on South Rogers Rd at Graves Delozier Rd.
Harrison left a wife, two sons and a daughter.
