It’s been a great year for the teams in Seymour.
My hat’s off to the parents, coaches, and most of all the players.
Weather it’s the volleyball, soccer, baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, tennis, swimming, or golf it doesn’t really matter.
It’s the determination, commitment and drive of each individual and as a team they accomplished much.
Even the fantastic support by the school bands, cheerleaders and fans was awarded and commented.
It was a great event shared by all in attendance.
The wonderful comments the coaches made about each child as they were presented with a trophy was truly heartfelt and appreciated by all.
Some couldn’t hold back the tears of joy.
You could see the parent’s chest puff out with pride as their child’s name was called.
Any parent that has had the experience of their child involved in sports, knows all to well that it’s a challenge.
The time and day management of keeping track of practice and game schedules is a chore. Inevitably there are numerous schedule changes.
If the parents have more than one child involved in sports activity, you can multiply the difficulty by four.
And it’s not always about the victory. Even though that’s what we are all shooting for. Many times much is learned from losses.
So often we are judged by the schools in our community. More often, we are also judged by the support of our teams.
Seymour couldn’t be any prouder of the support given to our schools and the sports.
Keep it up Seymour.
We love our teams.
