The East Tennessee Hosta Society (ETHS) will have its ‘Tailgate Plant Sale’ on Sunday,
May 4, l2 noon to 4:00 p.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the Friendship Plaza entrance
of the UT Gardens.
This year’s theme ‘Hosta of the Year – Past, Present and Future’ will feature 2008 hosta
of the year ‘ Blue Mouse Ears’ and 2009 H. ‘Earth Angel’. Also available will be a selection of sun and shade perennials.
On May 3, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 125, Ellington Plant Sciences Bldg., on the west (Agriculture) Campus, Mr. Bob Solberg, well known hosta hybridizer of Green Hill Farm Nursery, will speak on ‘Hostas In Pots’. Mr. Solberg introduced H. “Guacamole”
as well as many other selections. He will be participating in the plant sale on May 4.
The talk is free and open to the public.
