summer adventure program registration

published: February 27 2008 03:40 AM updated:: February 27 2008 11:19 AM The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting registration for the 2008 Summer Adventure Program on March 31.  Registration forms are available now at the Sevierville Community Center.

Ages: 

Six years old through the summer following 6th grade in school. 

Dates, Times, Fees: 

Monday - Friday, from 7:45 am - 3:30 pm.  The Extended Program extends the hours to 5:30 each afternoon.  Program dates are June 9 - August 7 (excluding June 30 – July 11).  You may register for all weeks or pick and choose which weeks fit your schedule.  The fee for Summer Adventure is $75 per week.  Most lunches are provided and most field trips are paid for.  You only pay $10 deposit, per week, per child at registration.  The remaining balance is due on the first day of each week.  The Extended Program is $20 per week, due at registration.

Activities:  Children participate in a variety of activities and sports including:  swimming, bowling, tennis, dodgeball, soccer, kickball, whiffleball, volleyball, basketball, archery, scavenger hunt, pictionary, relays, talent show, arts and crafts, Water Day, an end of the summer sleepover, plus more.  Examples of field trips include the Track Recreation Area, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Mr. Gatti's, Reel Theatres, gymnastics, Gatlinburg, shopping, Wesley Woods, Lazerport, Pigeon River Mining Company, Ober Gatlinburg, Karaoke Café, Wonder Works, Nascar Speed Park, the Knoxville Zoo, Spin City Skate Center, Museum of Science and Energy and a tour of the University of Tennessee sports facilities.
