three persons arrested for allegedly forging prescriptions

published: July 27 2007 05:09 PM updated:: July 30 2007 03:03 PM Three individuals have been arrested on multiple charges of allegedly forging prescriptions for pain medication at a local pharmacy.

The Sevierville Police Department (SPD) received information on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 from St. Mary's Pain Management Center in Powell, TN indicating that numerous apparently forged prescriptions had been used at Kroger's pharmacy, 702 Winfield Dunn Parkway (Hwy. 66). St. Mary's Pain Management Center had reportedly been contacted by Kroger's pharmacy staff regarding a woman attempting to use a prescription.

SPD Detective Tim Coulter, with assistance from the Sevier County Sheriff's Department, began investigating and arrested 33-year old Kimberly M. Douglass of Kodak, TN on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. Detective Coulter charged Douglass with twenty-nine counts of felony forgery for allegedly using twenty-nine forged prescriptions between September 2006 and July 2007.

Detective Coulter, with assistance from the Sevier County Sheriff's Department, also arrested two more individuals this afternoon, Friday, July 27, 2007. 44-year old Janet M. Cunningham of Seymour was charged with nine counts of felony forgery for allegedly using nine forged prescriptions at the Kroger pharmacy between March 2007 and June 2007. 24-year old Amanda J. York was charged with ten counts of felony forgery for allegedly using ten forged prescriptions at the Kroger pharmacy between December 2006 and June 2007.
