Wright Words: Morris goes the way the wind blows

Dick Morris is a sad little man. After bleeding Bill Clinton for money for over 20 years as his advisor, he is now a mouthpiece for the Republican Party, and rather well-paid I suspect. He’s been riding the coattails of President Bush since his first election. Had John Kerry won the state of Ohio and taken the 2004 election, Mr. Morris would most likely be trying to latch on to some well-heeled Democrat. His political loyalty is determined by the party in power. Recently Morris has been expounding on how well Mr. Bush has been received during his European tour. What he neglected to say spoke volumes about his current political leanings. He did not write about the massive protests against the war in Iraq. These protests were held at every stop along the route. Thousands upon thousands of citizens in France, England, and Germany are still upset about the decision to start an unprovoked war on Iraq, and the loss of thousands of lives as a result. In a column last week Morris blasted his former boss’s party, calling the Democrats “irrelevant.” He seems to have forgotten that Bush is in office despite having lost the popular vote in the 2004 election. This was after an unprecedented U.S. Supreme Court vote of 5-4 to hand the presidency to Bush. And over 51 million people voted for Kerry in the last election, the most ever by a losing candidate. In my opinion, it is Mr. Morris who is irrelevant. It is obvious that he follows the power and money trail. The Democratic Party needs to steer clear of him now and in the future. His credibility certainly should be questioned after he continually flip-flops between political parties. I imagine his reputation will eventually catch up to him, which will probably be the end of his “advisor” days.
