Dear Editor: I want to thank you very much for the article you ran regarding our dear departed canine friend, Paddlefoot. My husband and I were very upset when he passed and although it was painful to reflect upon the story, you handled the matter with class and made the experience bittersweet. We will always remember Paddlefoot for his wonderful demeanor and friendly and happy outlook on life. He will always have a permanent place in our hearts. We hope that others reading the story will take an example from it and not be afraid to offer their love for our four-legged friends out of fear that someday they too would pass on. Believe us, it is very much worth the few weeks of pain at the end to have enjoyed the fourteen wonderful years of friendship that he gave so freely. Bless you all at the Seymour Herald, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Karen Grimes-Kelley
