Letting us know

published: May 25 2002 12:00 AM updated:: May 25 2002 12:00 AM
There are things that I take for granted and it appears that you, our readers do to. I assume that if you have an organization, club, school or company function, event or news item that you want people to know about, you would tell us so that we could get the word out. There are several ways in which you could get the info to us. There’s the phone, in person, email it or you could drop us a line in the mail. Apparently from the phone calls and emails we have been receiving, it is assumed that we should already know what your school, club, business or organization is doing because I get asked all the time, ‘Why didn’t you cover this event or that function’. And some are distressed if their news item doesn’t get in. It seems that you realize the value of having your information in the Seymour Herald. It’s flattering that in only four months, we are already considered the information source in Seymour. As you can tell from the Letters To The Editor that we’ve been receiving, the Seymour Herald is on the right track. We are constantly looking for ways to improve. Therefore, if you have any comments, suggestions or know of news items that we should cover, please don’t hesitate to call, write or email us. But be sure to do it in a timely manner. Preferably prior to the event. And for goodness sake, please don’t assume that we already now about it. It’s true, we are aware of many functions and events that take place, but we certainly don’t know everything, so if you want or need to get the word out about anything, just let us know and we’ll be happy to do it as long as it adheres to our editorial policy. You know, there is also a flip side to this. Have you read the Seymour Herald and thought to yourself, “I didn’t know that”, or “how in the heck did they (The Seymour Herald) know about that”. It’s a daily occurrence. People that have lived here since the beginning of time are finding out things in the Seymour Herald which they never new. I’m very proud of our staff. They work diligently to provide proper information. We have received many compliments. Thank you and to all those that continue to support us. Keep those letters and emails coming.
