The Seymour Herald — Seymour, TN

Now for the Great NEWS

As everyone from this area already knows and it needs no mention, Seymour is growing. The recent auction at Peacock’s Crossing is a prime example. Over $1.5 million dollars for just over 14 acres of land. And don’t forget the recent $1 million dollar project at First Baptist Church, which is just across the street from the last week’s auction. Then there’s the $3.5 million dollar expansion project at the Seymour Heights Christian Church (see front page story). And not only is Seymour growing, but it is also giving more than ever before. The Seymour Academic Foundation at last Saturday night’s gala event raised over $20,000. A record! And there’s more. More stores, more houses, more businesses on their way. Some of you will be glad, while others will be otherwise. Well, either way, it seems to be a way of life. Just think how many people lived here 200 years ago, or even 100 years ago. Less than a fraction of what lives here now. Can you imagine how many are going to live here just 10 years from today? As you might be aware, my staff and I need to have a pulse on what’s happening in and around the area. Besides the newspaper, another excellent and timely way in which to get that information out to the residents, our readers, is through the internet. For those that weren’t aware, we have completely redesigned the www.seymourherald.com website. Last month we entered into a contract with 01Xpress, the people that make the magic happen on our web site. Even though the site is up and running, there is one more major adjustment that they will be performing for us to give us “that look”. You can look up past issues, search for articles and look at the pictures in color. There will be lots of great surprises. If you can, check it out. Leave me some feedback – send me email. In the meantime, keep reading the Herald and sending us any news items you would like to share with the community.
