Eugene Kirk

Kirk, Eugene Gilbert, 68, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 26, 2008, at his residence. He was in the United States Air Force and served his country in Vietnam. He loved fishing, gambling, and sports. He was predeceased by: parents, George Gilbert and Roxie Belle (Ruthford) Kirk; 4 brothers. Surviving Mr. Kirk: wife of 49 years, Gwendolyn (Sampson) Kirk; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene Jr., & Chevy, Richard & Lisa, Daniel & Jacque, and David & Tammy Kirk; daughter and son-in-law, Joy & Kennith Owens; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Shawn, Tabitha, Brittany and husband Timmy, Alyssa, Shane, Kimberly, Joseph, Samantha, Victoria, Daniel Jr., Jonathan and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Jolean and Riley; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Joe & Katherine Kirk; sisters, Betty Sue Kirk Frazier, and Joyce & Dewey Galloway; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Andover Methodist Church, 4216 Nichols Road, Andover, VA 24215. Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be conducted Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. in East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
