James Burkhardt

Burkhardt, James Oliver “Pop”, age 78 of Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008. Pop was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who could always bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Carter High School. Jim retired from South Central Bell on December 31, 1983. Preceded in death by wife, Lennis Clayton Burkhardt; daughter, Cynthia Ann Burkhardt; father, Earl K. Burkhart; mother, Blanche A. Cruze Burkhart. Survivors are sons, Rev. James O. Burkhardt, Jr. and wife Gayle of Pensacola, FL, Doug Burkhardt and wife Peggy of Kodak, TN; and daughter, Angie Burkhardt Wells and husband Larry of Kodak; grandchildren, Amber Burkhardt Beasley and husband Craig of Pensacola, FL, Heather Burkhardt Jones and husband Ian of Ft. Worth, TX, Brooke Burkhardt French and husband B.J., Adam Burkhardt and Aaron Burkhardt of Kodak, Craig Wells of Valdosta, GA, Brent Wells and Tracy Wells of Kodak; great-grandsons, Connor French and Caden French of Kodak; step-children, Pat Foust and husband Ronnie, Doris Blodgett and husband Stuart; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Owens and husband Jody, Jonathan Foust, Ben Blodgett, and Stephen “PH” Blodgett; step great-granddaughter, Abby Owens, all of Knoxville. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday, June 2, at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Asbury Cemetery for an 11 AM graveside service with Dr. Deron Cobb officiating. Memorials may be made to Mt.
