Virginia McGregor

McGregor, Virginia Wilson –age 100, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 30, 2008. Virginia served along with her husband, Rev. John R. McGregor, ministering to church communities in Greene County, as well as Stock Creek, Pleasant Grove and Central Point Baptist Churches. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Rev. John R. McGregor; son, Edward A. McGregor and his wife, Marty; son-in-law, Harold Rule; sister, Lucille Freeman and brothers, Will and Frank Wilson. Survivors include daughter, Sarah Jane McGregor Rule; grandchildren, Tony Rule and wife Michelle, Phillip Rule, Charles Rule, Sarah Ann Hood and husband Mike, Jill McNees and husband Dan Foulk, and John McGregor; 8 great-grandchildren, Brian, Shelby, Ramsey, Virginia, Jeremy, Hannah, Laura and Joseph. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday at Stock Creek Baptist Church, 8106 Martin Mill Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920 (573-8881). The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM. Dr. Steven Jett will be officiating and music will be led by Brannan Gillenwater. Family and friends will meet Monday at Stock Creek Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Stock Creek.
