Roger Wade Rowden

Rowden, Roger Wade –age 55, of Powell, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at his residence. Roger was of the Baptist faith. He was a truck driver for Purdy Brothers in Loudon. Roger was a devoted husband and father who loved life and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include wife of 20 years, Peggy (Riffey) Rowden of Powell; son and daughter-in-law, William and Lisa Rowden of Knoxville, son, Roger Rowden, Jr. of Clinton; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Tommy Lane of Powell; brother and sister-in-law, David and Kathy Rowden of Halls; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Delbert Mayes of Kentucky, Glenda and Byron Gordon of Virginia; several nieces and nephews; special mother-in-law, Molly Riffey of Knoxville; special friend, Steve Riffey and a host of special family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2008 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM, Rev Larry Woods and Rev. Irby Russell officiating. Family and friends will meet at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 for 9:30 AM interment services with military honors.
