Andrew Arkel

Arkel, Andrew –age 76, of Newport, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 31, 2008 at his residence. He was retired from the United States Army having served in the Korean War as an infantryman. Andrew was a member of V.F.W. and Moose Club and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by parents, Michael and Sarah Arkel; daughter, Margaret Brewer and four brothers. Wife of 36 years, Carol Arkel; sons, Montie Arkel, Andrew Arkel, Jr., John Moore and Terry Moore; daughters, Stacy Geiger, Judy Braden, Diana Roberts, Theresa Benadict and Elaine Sturgill; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, February 4, 2008 at Berry Funeral Home.
