Sally Evelyn Finchum

Sally (Evelyn) Finchum went to heaven to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the age of 75. Evelyn passed away at home after an extended battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s. She was born on February 11, 1933 in Sevier County, and was a lifelong resident of Sevier County. She loved to fish and watch UT Football. She was employed by Electro-Voice in Sevierville. She married J.W. Finchum on December 6, 1948. She was a member of Oak City Baptist Church of Seymour. She was devoted to her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her parents. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Caroline Trentham; brothers Charlie, Bluford, and J.H. Trentham; sisters Lena Trentham, Alice Clabo, Rebecca Waycaster, Betty Bain, Beulah Myers, Cleo Huskey, and Alma Lindsey. She is survived by: Her husband of 60 years: J.W. Finchum Children and their spouses: Johnny Finchum and Sandy, Sue and Tommy Berrier, Mike and Barbara Finchum, and Randy and Judith Finchum Grandchildren: Marty and Chrissy Berrier, Mandy and Bill Payne, Alisha and Dr. Todd Houston, Justin, Savanna, and Marcus Finchum Great grandchildren: Miranda Payne, Abbey and Aaron Houston, Zailey Berrier and Kaylee Finchum Sisters: Olive Reagan and Marie Broas Several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank a special care-giver, Lois Sebby and UT hospice for their care of such a wonderful lady. Funeral service will be 7 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour, with Dr. Todd Houston officiating. Interment 11 AM Friday in Boyds Creek Cemetery.
