Lee Roy ''Pee Wee'' Smelcher

Lee Roy (Pee Wee) Smelcher, age 91, of Sevierville, passed away October 30, 2007. He was born in the Seymour area to W.A. and Susie Green Smelcher. He was a veteran of World War II and a 60 year member of the American Legion Post 104. He was an employee of Sevier County Electric System for 32 years and member of Knob Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Murel, Charles, Alvin, and Wendell, sisters, Mayme Lewis, Anna Mae Smelcer, Katherine Whaley, Mary Helen (Nannie) Allen. Survivors: Wife of 64 years: Pauline (Polly) Reagan Smelcher Son: Ronnie Lee Smelcher and special devoted daughter-in-law, Sherry Grandsons: Scott and Josh Great-grandchildren: Tanner, Brea, and Hailey Brother: Raymond Sisters: Ruth and Blackie Johnson, Zelma and Glenn Breeden Numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a host of special friends In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church T.V. ministry, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, Tennessee, 37862, or Knob Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 959 N. Knob Creek Road, Seymour, Tennessee, 37865. Funeral service 7 PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. W.A. Galyon and Rev. Terry Parton officiating. Interment 11 AM Friday in Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
