Lindsey, Charles Clifford ?age 89 of South Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, March 01, 2007 at his home. He was a member of Meridian Baptist Church; Woodmen of the World Lodge 803; Masonic Lodge #769; and the Alcoa 25-year Club. He retired from Alcoa in June 1980. Preceded in death by parents, John Hugh and Kate Finchum Lindsey; brothers, Otha, Arlie, Roy, Ernie, Ray and Bart Lindsey; sisters, Mary Nola Lindsey, Eva Hill, Ina Newman, Georgia Eledge and Doshia Sims; granddaughter, Sherry Leighton and great-great grandson, Lucas D. Webb. Survived by wife of 53 years, Dorothy Marie Lindsey; son, L.C. ?Chuck? Lindsey of Knoxville; daughter, Marie Summerlin and husband, Bob of Knoxville; granddaughter, Joanna Allman and husband, Johnny of Tellico Plains; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lindsey would like to thank his very special caregiver, Karen Brown, whose love and devotion made it possible for Clifford to remain in his home until God called him. Also special thanks to Darla, Dee, Holly and Chaplain Tom Baez at Caris Hospice. Funeral service will be held 8 PM Saturday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dana Fachman and Rev. Joe Chandler officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland South Cemetery on Sunday for 2 PM interment services.
