Elma Ownby Etherton, age 79 of Sevierville, passed away June 24, 2007. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville. She was preceded in death by her husband James William Etherton, son William Jeffery Etherton, grandchild Zane Eschman, parents Jess L. and Ethel Ogle Ownby, brother Mayford Ownby, sister, Euna Ownby, and sister-in-law Betty Large. Survivors: Daughters: Linda Etherton Scott and husband Charles T., Leila J. Heptinstall and husband Michael Son: James Edgar Etherton and wife Jeannie Daughter-in-law: Sue Etherton Grandchildren: T.C. Scott, Lecinda J. Ward, Lisa J. Eschman, Tommy McMahan, Johnny McMahan, Tonya Brooks, William Etherton, Katie Lenora Etherton, Amanda Etherton, Jeremiah Etherton, Hannah Etherton 15 Great-grandchildren Sisters: Iva McCarter, Isabelle Fain and husband Doug, Hazel Johnson and husband Jimmy Sisters-in-law: Georgia Freels and husband Joe, Margaret Etherton Brother-in-law: Eugene “Amos” Large Several nieces, nephews, and extended family Funeral service 11 AM Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev.
