Effie Mae (Roach) Houser

Houser, Effie Mae (Roach) ?age 73, born April 23, 1934, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. Effie was met in Heaven by her mother and father, Robert and Lucy Roach; sister, Mary Helen Roach; brothers, Jack and Eddie Roach; and grandson, James Ryan Houser. Effie worked as a chiropractic assistant for Grady Hurst, D.C., for many years. She later served as a deputy court clerk for Lillian Bean, and retired from Knox County Circuit Court in 1993. She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband of 56 years, James B. (J.B.) Houser; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick Houser and Judy Shiftlet of Rutledge, Tennessee, Randy and Geneva Houser of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Robbie and Bill Hodsden of Knoxville; granddaughters and husbands, LeeAnn and Kevin Curry, Christina and Jon Roberts, Brittany Jones; and grandsons, James and Ritchie Houser, all of Knoxville. ?Nana? will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Christian, and Ava Curry; and great-grandson, Carter Roberts, will miss his ?MeMaw?. Effie leaves behind her sister, Wanda Ecrement of Etowah, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Roach of Miami, Florida; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Tillery of Knoxville; plus several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of ICU West at Fort Sanders Regional for their loving care and thoughtfulness during this time. Friends are welcome to visit the family at Berry Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM with funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM inside Berry Chapel. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM interment services, Reverend Floyd Taylor officiating. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
