Services for Mr. Everett Hoyle Owen will be held, June 07, 2007, at 08:00 PM at the following locations: Highland Memorial Chapel 5315 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919 (865) 588-0567 Owen, Everett Hoyle ? age 77 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at St. Mary?s Residential Hospice. Born June 19, 1929 in Newport, Tennessee to the late James C. and Anna Laura Owen, he was a US Army veteran, serving as a Corporal stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He was the retired owner of PGC Dental Laboratory and had the privilege of a second career with the Knox County Sheriff?s Office. Member of Burlington Masonic Lodge, where he was a member of the Provost Guard. As a volunteer, he was proud to work with the wonderful children that were helped by his beloved organization. He was a loving, gentle husband and a devoted, understanding father. He was a cherished grandfather, a caring brother; a true diplomat. He was a competitive golfer, an avid baseball player, coach and fan. He threw a wicked knuckleball with precision and grace. He will be missed greatly. Survived by: his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Carolyn (McCarty) Owen; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly D. and Michael Payne; son, Dennis H. Owen; four grandchildren, Joel Marshall, Bart, Tyler and Hallie Payne; sisters, Sue Beres and Shelvie Kennedy of Knoxville; brothers, James L. Owen of Knoxville, and John C. Owen of Lake Mary, Florida; special friend and relative, Frankie S. Simmons. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at Highland Memorial (Kingston Pike). A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 8 p.m., conducted by Rev. Mark Lampley. A private interment service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Suite H102, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at St. Mary?s Residential Hospice and to his long-term physician and friend David B. Wooten, MD.
