Helen Walker Jared

Jared, Helen Walker ?age 66, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, July 26, 2007. Helen was a native of New Tazewell, Tennessee and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Masters of Science Degree in Home Economics. During her professional career, she served as an Extension Agent with The University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service in Bledsoe County, taught Clothing and Textiles at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and taught Home Economics at South High School in Knoxville. Helen?s main occupation and priority in life was being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Ira Elbert Walker. Survivors include husband of 39 years, John R. Jared; daughter and son-in-law, LeAnn and Bryan Moffitt of Asheville, North Carolina; son, Bradley Jared of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughter, Lily Anna Moffitt; mother, Evelyn Grace Walker; sisters, Wilma Jean Brandon and husband, George, Genelle Cavins and husband, J, Mary Ruth Edds and husband, Jim; brother, Ira Elbert Walker, Jr. and wife, Opal, Jeffrey Walker and wife, Teresa; and sister-in-law, Beth Bilbrey. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Dr. William Palmer, Dr. Deron Cobb, Rev. Bill Ballinger officiating and special music by Bill Paczkowski. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Mission Fund, 2500 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
