Services for Christine W. Harkins Smith will be held, July 22, 2007, at 07:00 PM at the following locations: The Chapel of Highland Memorial 5315 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919 (865) 588-0567 Smith, Christine W. Harkins ? age 81 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 20, 2007. A life-long member of Broadway Baptist Church, she was a faithful Christian and devoted mother of 8 children. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. and Helen Hammond; husband, Albert W. Smith; and first husband, Lawrence W. Harkins. Survived by: her children; Sharon Scott and husband Tom, Bill Smith and wife Vicki, Gay Bradley and husband Duane, Evie Maynard, Ben Harkins and wife Julie, Robin Nichols and husband Tim, Phyllis Slack and husband Greg, Jerry Smith and wife Paige; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; devoted family friend Faye Humphries, and special friends Sharon Bell, Robert and Minnie Faulkner, and the Charles Green Family. The family will receive friends at Highland Memorial (5315 Kingston Pike) on Sunday evening, July 22 from 5-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the gravesite by 10:15 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial donations be made in Christine?s memory to the Alzheimer?s Association, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37919.
