Theodore Allen Burdette

Theodore Allen Burdette, age 93 of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at his home. He was a member of Murphy’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired railroad engineer from Dollywood. He enjoyed playing “old time” hymns on his fiddle and did so every Sunday at Murphy’s to the delight of many. In addition, he visited many other churches in the area and was known and loved as “the fiddler”. Survivors: Wife: Blanch Pearl Burdette Son and Daughter-in-law: Cody and Lynette Burdette Daughters and Sons-in-law: Rita and James Hamrick, Viola and Walt Riordan, Anita and Steve Flynn Grandchildren: Eric and William Burdette, Christine Bennett, Julie Horton, Natalie DeVries, Craig and Kevin Watts, Kim Bacon, Steve and Wyatt Hamrick, Sean Riordan, Heather Buckberry, Amanda Wear, Joseph Riordan, Chloe Flynn 27 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren Sister and Brother-in-law: Kathleen and Clyde Krise The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Ashley Calhoun officiating. The family will also receive friends at Matics Funeral Home in Clendenin, West Virginia from 1-2:30 PM Saturday with graveside service and interment to follow in Whites Cemetery.
