Minnie Ruth Headrick Tipton

Minnie Ruth Headrick Tipton, 89, of Wears Valley, went home to be with her Saviour on Monday, February 12, 2007. She was welcomed home by her beloved husband, Hayes Tipton and her parents, Bruce and Laura Headrick. Joining in the celebration were her brothers, Hugh and Warren Headrick and sisters, Pauline Gilland and Lucille Stephensen. Ruth was a life-long resident of Wears Valley, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Wears Valley. She was an avid hiker and loved the outdoors and working in her flowers. Survivors: Devoted daughter: Carol Atchley and husband Richard Grandchildren: Gail Atchley Stiles, Rick Atchley and wife Debbie Great-grandchildren: Matthew and Zachary Stiles Brothers: Carl Headrick and wife Edna; Glenn Headrick and wife Virginia Sister: Maxine Huskey and husband Tip Many special nieces, nephews, and friends, including the wonderful, caring staff of Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Wears Valley. Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. John Troutman officiating. Family and friends will meet 12 noon Thursday at Campground Methodist Cemetery in Townsend, Tennessee for interment.
