Robert Banner Wheatley

Wheatley, Robert Banner “Beau”, age 39, of South Knoxville, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. He was a 1986 graduate of Doyle High School and 1991 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Beau was an 8th grade History teacher at South Doyle Middle School and formerly taught at William Blount High School. He had a lifelong love of High School and UT Football. He currently was an offensive statistician for Sevier County High School. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and teacher and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Clary, and grandfather, R.B. Wheatley. He is survived by wife, Korey Wheatley; daughter Chloe; father, Mike Wheatley, mother, Becky Wheatley; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Kati Wheatley; grandmother, Kathryn Wheatley; great aunts and uncles: Margaret McMillian; Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Wood; Dot Wood; aunt and uncle, Larry and Carolyn Major; cousins: Laura Wells, Sarah Libman, Joe Libman, and Melissa Malasitt, Bill and David Clary, and Robert Wood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Don Wilson and Rev. Clarence Hall officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Friday and proceed to Highland South Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment service. Pallbearers will be Jim Wolfenbarger, Gary Wear, Wes Spurling, Dave Belknap, Rick Billbury, Mike Langford, and Tony Linkenfelter. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
