Services for Mr. Marvin G. Spurlin will be held, August 04, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the following locations: The Chapel of Highland Memorial 5315 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919 (865) 588-0567 Spurlin, Marvin G., passed away in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 1, 2007. He was born July 14, 1935 in Birchwood, Tennessee to the late Winter and Amy Spurlin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Billie Jean Johnson, infant son Joseph Spurlin, and son-in-law Eddie West. He was a former resident of Cleveland, Tennessee. Marvin retired from Preston Printing Company, and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Marvin was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Knoxville. Marvin is survived by his wife and best friend, Betty Spurlin; his children, Karen West of Chattanooga, Philip Spurlin of Lenoir City, Dennis and Leigh Ann Spurlin, Scott Spurlin, and Thad and Stacy Spurlin, all of Cleveland, Tennessee; Carla and Jay Basile and Casey and Jason Trammell of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Amanda West of Chattanooga, Zachary and Taylor Spurlin, Anna and Melina Spurlin all of Cleveland, Gunner and Cameron Trammell of Knoxville; brother, Dewayne and Carolyn Spurlin of Riceville, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Roy Johnson of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Ruth McCoig of Heiskell, Tennessee. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 3 at Highland Memorial Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Memorial Service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Chapel of Highland Memorial, Father Marcos Zamora, CSP and Associate Pastor at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Philip Spurlin, Thad Spurlin, Zachary Spurlin, Jay Basile, Jason Trammell and Josh Morris.
