Robert Franklin Iddins

Iddins, Robert Franklin ?age 76, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006, at his South Knoxville home. He was happiest at the homestead and in his younger days especially enjoyed riding horses or his tractor there, taking motorcycle rides, or boating and camping with his family. He also enjoyed raising pedigreed dogs prior to his failing health. A 1949 graduate of Young High School, he also attended the University of Tennessee before going to work for the family business of Iddins Machinery Company. He later worked for Robinson Trucking Company and Vasey Coal Company, before retiring from John H. Coleman Company. He was a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church and Oriental Lodge #453 and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Robert or ?Bob?, always had a friendly smile and an entertaining story to tell, and never met a stranger. Bob was preceded in death by parents, Bart O. Iddins, Sr. and Margaret Vasey Iddins, whose father was a Knoxville City Councilman. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 45 years, June S. Iddins; sons, Kerry (Janice), Barry (Angie), Joel (Brenda), Keith (Erika); daughters, Donna Iddins, Rhonda (Jim) Kennedy, and Jan (Frank) Cable; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Bart (Rhetta). The family will receive friends beginning at 5 PM on Wednesday at Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. A celebration of life service will promptly begin at 6:30 PM.
