Shirley Lorain Audiss

Shirley L. Audiss-Carr, age 79, of South Knoxville, passed away Monday, September 4, 2006. She was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Linda Mar, California, and a retired school secretary. A county, city, and State of California retiree, she was an avid sports spectator enthusiast of T-Ball, the Tennessee Vols, ice skating, and the Olympics. She was a proud supporter of our Troops and a champion of the disabled and the environment. She loved square dancing, polka fests, family reunions, holiday gatherings and of course taught all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren to play gin rummy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Ray Carr, grandson, James Cameron Audiss, great- grandson, Cameron Audiss, brothers, Bill and Ray Audiss, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandparents and in-laws. Survivors: Son: James and ex-wife Kathi Daughters and son-in-law: Barbara Jean McDonald and husband E. W. (Mac), Judy Lorain Carr Grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Judy Lynn Larson and husband Sam, Gregory Audiss, Barb Fleming, Laura Thacker and husband Patrick, Shellean D. Audiss, Tina J. Iversen, Melissa A. Dunn and husband Carl, Amber J. Cockrell, Jessica L. Thacker, Scott A. Larson, James L. Thacker, Cassie Audiss, Andrea Fleming, Joshua L. Thacker, Cody Audiss, C. Alex Audiss, Hassen Thames, Shelby Audiss, Knari, JoJeanna and Christian Fleming Brother and sister-in-law: Ret. Col. Jack Audiss and wife Garnet Sister and brother-in-law: Betty Bickford and husband Phillip Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and life long friends. Funeral service 3 PM Saturday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Alton Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in Seven Islands Cemetery.
