Nanney, III, John Plato ?age 65, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Zella W. Nanney, longtime residents of South Knoxville. Jack grew up as a member of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville. A proud graduate of Young High School and the University of Tennessee, Jack was an avid VOL fan and former member of the Pride of the Southland Band. He attended at least one game each season, and never missed a televised football game. Both he and his father enjoyed membership in the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Jack was an Eagle Scout, a member of Order of the Arrow, and served as a Scoutmaster for several years in Colorado. He was a member of the Air Force after college and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain.
