Sister Hazel Gladys (Bowman) Haun

Haun, Sister Hazel Gladys (Bowman), age 96, of South Knoxville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday June 4, 2006. She was the founder of Childress Street Mission along with her beloved late husband, Orville S. Haun, Sr. and Associate Pastor, Buddy Barrett. Her greatest love was to honor God and minister to the countless number of people that she came in contact with during her 56 years on ministry. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Rebecca Bowman; sisters, Edna Brooks, Carlotta Goode, Ruth Townsend, Pearl Stripling, Christine Thomas; brothers, Floyd, Preston, Joseph and Steve Bowman; sons, Jack, J.G. and Don Helmboldt. Special thanks to housekeeper, Renee Easterday, beautician, Allene Moore, Beverly Currence, Ft. Sanders Hospital, Brakebill Nursing and Rehab Center, loving granddaughter-in-law, Tina Haun, South Knoxville Shoney?s and Gayle Boyd, VP of AmSouth Bank, her spiritual daughter) for all of their love and care. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Bill Brooks; son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Lynn (Barlozhetskaya) Haun; granddaughters, Vicki Goddard, Kathy Helmboldt, Donna Haun and Anya Barlozhetskaya; grandson, Jack Richard, Jr., Rusty Helmboldt, Mark, Kirk, Dale and Scott Helmboldt, Bryon Haun, Bill Phillips and Doug Brooks; ten great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with service to follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Mays, M.D. and Dr. Cindy Norton, PhD officiating. The family will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. graveside services on Wednesday with Rev. Sam Darden officiating. Pallbearers are Buddy and Bryon Haun, Doug and Bill Brooks, Tim Bowman and Ray Perry. Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Frye, Jr., Bill Goode, Richard and Taylor Helmboldt, Daniel Bowman, J.D. and Cotton Townsend and Hugh Brooks. Arrangements made by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.
