Dorothy Poston

Poston, Dorothy E ?Dot? age 84 passed away suddenly on January 23 at St. Mary?s Hospital. She was born October 17, 1921 to Denzil and Lois Smith. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School and a faithful member of the Second United Methodist Church, where she served as Treasurer for the Abundant Life Sunday School Class. She was a self-employed income tax preparer for 30 years. Dot loved and was loved without limit by all who knew her. Her greatest joy was her family and friends. Earth?s loss is Heaven?s gain as a new angel was received into Heaven. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, David J. Poston Sr.? sister, Billie J. Naumann; and brother, Bobby K. Smith. Survived by son, David J. (Jimmy) Poston, Jr. and wife Ann; daughters, Donna Walker and Diane Harvey and husband Tom; grandchildren, Angie Doyle and husband Tim, Lyda Bell and husband Karl, Ricky Webster and wife Treva, Brian Poston and wife Jennifer, Alesia Newby and husband TJ, and Tisha Walker; great grandchildren, Maddie Dunn, Matthew and Rachael Doyle ,Cody, Jordan and Kendred Newby, Kaitlyn Walker, Mason Bell, Jackson and Silas Webster, Reagan and Morgan Poston; sisters Patsy Routh and Judy Grubb; sister-in-law Irene Mynatt and many special friends. Funeral service will be 7:00 PM Thursday, at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Bill Stooksbury and Rev. Gerald McFarland officiating. Graveside service will be Friday at 1:00PM at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the chapel service.
