Lola Mayes Douglass

Lola Mayes Douglass, age 94 of Sevierville, died Monday, January 16, 2006. Born and raised in Greenbrier, she was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Douglass; infant children Dale Leon and Brenda Joyce; parents Allen and Eliza Mayes; sisters Edra Rogers and Lillie Rayfield. Survivors: Son and Daughter-in-law: Ray and Alden Douglass of Sevierville Daughters and Son-in-law: Betty and Jim Tolliver of Knoxville, Linda Henderson of Sevierville Grandchildren: David Tolliver, Alan Tolliver and wife Miranda, Eric Henderson and wife Sandra, Brad Henderson, Benny McClure and Angela Loveday and husband Randy Great-grandchildren: Justin and Shara Loveday Special thanks to devoted caregivers Nora Jacobs, Connie Houk, Cathy McCullers, and Leona Wingfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church C.A.R.E. Ministry, TV Ministry, or First Reach, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862. Funeral service 7 PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hyder officiating and eulogy by Jim Atchley. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Friday in Underwood Cemetery for interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
