Edward (Eddie) Smith

Smith, Edward (Eddie), age 61, of South Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006. He worked for Kern?s Bakery for 30 years and made his home on Moody Avenue. We will always see him on the front porch drinking coffee. We will see him there today and always. Preceded in death by parents, James and Nellie Smith; brothers, Curtis, James Allen and Donald Smith; sisters, Barbara, Merle and Marion Smith and Geneva Rowland. Survived by sons, Jason Smith and Randy Wood; grandchildren, whom he loved more than life, Alexis and Christian Smith, Karla Wood, and Brittany and Dylan Jones; niece, Brittany Lovelace; ex-wife and best friend, Sharon Smith Varner; sisters, Patricia Wingett of Corona, California, Carolyn Green Stockbridge of Georgia; brothers, Raymond of Fallbrook, CA, Kenneth, Lake Elsinore, California, and Gerald and Larry Smith of Orange County, California; special friends, Carolyn Norton, Ronald Jeffries, Jerran Varner, Alex Loveday and Charlie Smart. Funeral service will be held 12 Noon on Monday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with Rev. Charlie McNutt officiating. Interment to follow at Zion Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
