Elward Grady Phillips, Jr.

Phillips, Jr., Elward Grady?age 55, formerly of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2006. He was a member of the Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle and an employee of JFG Coffee Company for almost 25 years. Elward loved planes and going to Gatlinburg. Preceded in death by parents, Elward Sr. and Gladys Phillips. He is survived by wife of 26 years, Doris Ann (Hatcher) Phillips; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Samuel Jones; brother, Gene Phillips; sister, Glenda Wyrick; brothers-in-law, Bill and Terry Hatcher; Gary and wife, Patsy Hatcher; sister-in-law, Irene Loveday; aunt, Marie Barker; great-niece, Scaty Skate (Shelby Wallace); great-nephew, Jacob Smith; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Agnes Houser and Donna Henderson. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral service to follow at 8 PM, Rev. Josh Phillips officiating. Family and friends will meet at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Thursday for 11:30 AM interment services. Full military honors will be provided by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
