Vardra Glenn

Glenn, Vardra, departed this life to be with her Lord Monday, February 20, 2006 at 7:00 PM. Her last days were spent in her home of 50 years with her family and loved ones. Vardra was born on December 19, 1915 to ?Polly? and Horace Henry, who preceded her in death, along with her husband, Maynard, son Jerry, and grandson Greg. Vardra was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and taught the Children?s Beginners Sunday School Class for 40 years. She graduated from Catholic High School and attended the University of Tennessee. She retired from the UT Audiology and Speech Pathology Department and was Personnel Director for UT Hospital, a member of Pilot Club of Knoxville, B.P.W. Knox County, Board member of UT Birth Defects, member of Citizens Honor Committee, Mt. Vista Garden Club, and avid Bridge player. She served as a volunteer for many community projects. Vardra was a loving and caring person who was always helping someone. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Carole Glenn; grandchildren and spouses: Patty and Rick Stansberry, Jennifer and Bill Davis, Robert and Candy Glenn, Jeff Glenn; great-grandchildren: Ava, Bre-Onna, Tristan, Destiny, Will, and Katelyn, and a multitude of family and friends. Vardra?s wonderful caregivers Jo Green, Pat Burke, Reba Kerr, and Dot Lee loved her and helped make her 90th birthday open house a joyful time for her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Graystone Presbyterian Church, 139 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920. Funeral service Friday, 7:00 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Eugene Thomas officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery at 12:00 Saturday for interment services. Family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
