Guy Truman (G.T.) Giles

Giles, Guy Truman (G.T.) ?age 80, of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Baptist Hospital. He was a faithful member of South Knoxville Church of Christ where he served as elder, Sunday school teacher and currently as a deacon. G.T. was retired from South Central Bell after 40 years of service and was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Navy, Seabees and Air Force Reserves. Preceded in death by parents, Guy T. Sr. and Helen Giles; sisters, Wilda Hughey; Earline Pedigo and Jane Ann Bowman. He is survived by wife of 56 years, Bettye Giles; sons and daughters: Guy and wife, Sherrie Giles; Carol and husband, Donnie Taylor; Gregg and wife, Laura Giles; Mark and wife, Teresa Giles; Alan and wife, Yaci Giles; David and wife, Carol Giles; Elisabeth and husband, Jim Murray; grandchildren: Jennifer Duncan and husband, Josh; Josh and Jeffrey Giles; Matthew Giles; Henrique Giles; Nick, Christian, Johnson, Cassidy and Elliot Giles; Allison and Christopher Murray; sisters, Bettie Floyd and Glenda Thompson. The family would like to express their appreciation to Lorraine Brown for her loving care. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Sunday, South Knoxville Church of Christ, with funeral service to follow at 8 PM, Minister Tom Miller. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday for 11 AM interment services. Military honors will be performed by Veterans United Honor Guard.
