Fred Caylor Sr.

Caylor, Fred H Sr. retired CW4, age 62 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday February 14, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Caylor is a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Army from 1961-1986. He served with American Division and 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam earning Silver Star, Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters and Two Air Medals with ?V? device. Mr. Caylor was a Test Pilot, Instructor Pilot and Aircraft Maintenance Officer. After retiring from the Army in 1986, Mr. Caylor was a Civilian Flight instructor for the Army Aviation Center at Fort Rucker, AL. teaching Basic Combat Skills. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sara Hazel Payne; and his grandson, Andrew Wyatt Caylor. Survived by wife, Debra G. Caylor; two sons, Fred II of Daleville, AL, and Michael of Knoxville, four grandchildren, Fayth, Austin, Brandon, and Alexis; father, Henry Clayton Caylor and step mother, Cassie of Tazewell; brother, Clyde Caylor; sisters, June (McNew) of Tazewell, Evelyn (Smith) of Gibsonville, NC; half brother, Doyle Caylor of Tazewell; and half sisters, Joyce (Browder) of Florence, SC, Wanda Caylor, and Janet (Freeman) of Tazewell; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service at 1:00PM Sunday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with St. Mary?s Hospice Chaplain Ken Thornton officiating. Family and friends will meet at Cave Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Tazewell at 3:00PM Sunday for interment services. Military honors provided by Veterans United Honor Guard.
