S. Eugene Lawson

S. Eugene Lawson, age 83 of Gatlinburg, TN, (formerly of Weirton, West Virginia), passed away at his home in Gatlinburg on Thursday, February 9, 2006. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church of Weirton, a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of West Va. A.F. & A.M., and a six year veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lela Lawson, his brothers Clarence Lawson and Dewey Lawson and wife Alice, and his niece Kimberly Lawson. He is survived by his loving: Wife of 61 years: D. Evelyn Lawson Daughters: Sheila Hite and husband John, of Raleigh, NC, Lynn Stephens and husband Gary, of Myrtle Beach, SC Grandchildren: John Hite, Jr. and wife Erin, Mark Hite and Karen Whetston, Nathan Seat and wife Leslie, and Benjamin Seat Great-grandchildren: Grayson and Zenik Hite, Lawson, Kate, and Nathan James Seat Brother: Bill Lawson and wife Audrey, of Cape Hatteras, NC Sister: Delores Phelps and husband Henry of Palm Beach Gardens, FL And a multitude of dear and truly beloved nephews, nieces and their wonderful families: Tim and David Lawson, Rick, Kathy and Dennis Phelps, Gary and Larry Lawson, Joan Ward, Linda Norton, Kay Morton, Louis Morton, Jr., Dan Morton As well as special friends: Gary and Wilma Hunt, Jim and DeLois Grooms, Walter and Marie Reungert, and Carol and Chuck Miller And the finest hunting and fishing buddies in the world: Tom Norton, Sr., Greg Ward, Tom Norton, Jr., Walter Reungert, and the next generation of young sportsmen who have added to the “thrill of the hunt” and the campfire stories. Funeral service 11 AM Saturday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Beeler officiating. Masonic service conducted by Mtn. Star Lodge #197.
