Deaton, Candy L., age 62, of South Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at UT Hospital. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and employed by Knox County Sheriff?s Department. She was Vice-President of the South Knoxville Republican Club and a proud member of the Red Hat Society where she was known as ?The Baroness of Critters?. She was very active with local Humane Societies and the South Haven Neighborhood Association. Preceded in death by parents Norma Hinton and James Henderson; adoptive parents, Sue and Freeman Jones; brothers, Eugene and Gary Jones. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Michelle Pate; daughter and son-in-law, Bambi and Frank Gaydos; 5 grandchildren: Ashley, Joseph, Taylor, Zachariah, and Madison; sisters, Wendy Bradley and Sue Rixham; brothers, Michael and Tom Pastore; spiritual soulmate, William McDonald; beloved friends Shirley Perry and family. Funeral service Saturday, 11:00 AM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Pat Polis officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William H. Perry, Jerry Cyrus, William McDonald, Frank Gaydos, Bruce Bradley, Paul Pinkston, and Will Perry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
